Echoes (gema) and Reverb (gaung) are a result of the same physical phenomena. The only thing that makes them different is our own human perception of time and distance. SYNOPSIS
Equador and Indonesia are over the equatorial line, in the middle of the world. Our countries are quite far from each other, yet our cultures share the same wisdom. Farmers and people who lived in the mountains and valleys believed in the reciprocity of the Pacha Mama (Ibu Pertiwi), work together (Minga or Gotong Royong) and celebrate the fruits of the earth.
This dance, whose character is typical of Ecuadorian celebrations, depicts the journey of a farmer who walk through mountains acquiring wisdom and celebrating the prosperity of the Pacha Mama/Ibu Pertiwi until he arrives to Indonesia, where he got astonished by its culture and dances that he will try to imitate.
